Letter from the Event Director
Welcome and thank you for your interest in Ironman 70.3 China presented by K-SWISS. We had a great first-year event and we are planning our 2009 race to be an even better experience. By all accounts, the combined full-distance and 70.3 races on the same day and same race course was a success. 2009 Ironman 70.3 China will provide its participants with a first-class race experience, a preview of Ironman China, and a real taste of Ironman racing. We hope that the experience will motivate many of our 2009 finishers to toe the start line for the ultimate endurance experience -- 2010 Ironman China.
This event will be second-to-none in the way all the athletes, their families, and companions are treated during their stay in Haikou. From the selection of 4-Star and 5-Star accommodations, to the warm hospitality of the locals, to the striking beauty of the venue itself, to Haikou’s vibrant city life, Ironman China and Ironman 70.3 China will deliver an Ironman experience like none other.
So that we can best assist you in preparing for Ironman 70.3 China, please make yourself familiar with this web-site, including the full-service travel and accommodation packages, and the race and event schedule. Our FAQ page will cover many areas of interest for this inaugural event, and I hope you will avail yourself of this information so that you will feel completely comfortable, prepared, and ready to compete upon race day. Finally, I also ask you to carefully read and understand the rules that govern our race as they will be strictly enforced.
Good training to you all and I look forward to seeing you in Haikou in April.
